Loom

Loom is an expandable, adaptable, wearable and flexible 3D printed dress that adapts to all body types and body changes. Since we aren’t able to 3D print fabrics yet, Loom explores the possibilities of creating wearable 3D printed textiles with structures that are designed in relation to function, anatomy, movement, and utility. 3D printing in the fashion industry can be revolutionary and helpful if it is designed with functionality and the human body in mind. Loom proves that 3D printing clothing is more feasible, affordable, adaptable and possible than we think.

LELO HEX

The advances and innovations of the HEX condom are rooted in its unique reengineered hexagonal structure. This design, comprising a network of individual hexagonal cells, assigns a number of game-changing benefits to the condom. Taking cues from architecture and from nature, the material is incredibly thin overall, but without compromising on strength and protection. The raised structure is on the inside surface, for an increase in grip and a more comfortable fit.

Flies trap lid

The flies trap lid is designed to catch flies. Compare with normal coffee cup lid, it not only has the traditional function but also can give a second life to disposable coffee cups. When people finish drinking, just press the trap bottom before throwing, the flies will be easily attracted by the residual coffee smell. Since this lid has a special conical structure hole, once the flies get in, it is hard to escape.

Tag Tag

TAG TAG is designed to distinguish one’s disposable cup from others to reduce waste. Both the paper and tag are made from food grade materials. Paper cups in events are often thrown away if mixed up with other people’s. But no one really cares about such waste. Instead of using a marker and pen to sign your name on the cup, you can simply scratch some tag off and make any pattern you like to distinguish yours from others. So after the break between meetings, you can still find your cup.

Cilllia

Inspired by the hair structures occur in nature at different scales with multiple functionalities, Cilllia looks at new ways of 3D printing dense hair on flat and curved surfaces. It allows users to design and generate hair geometry at 50 micrometer resolution and assign various functionalities to the hair, such as mechanical adhesion property; new passive actuation and touch sensing on a 3D printed artifact. The project envisions a future where physical materials’ properties and functions, whether eletrical or mechanical can be encoded in the material fabrication process directly by users.

MICROSCAPE

Microscape is a new collection of architecturally-precise models of cities around the world. We’re starting with one of the greatest cities of all: New York. The first phase is a series of 200 “microscapes” (distinct tiles of different parts of the city), which can be assembled into a complete, highly accurate model of Manhattan. Start building New York City with a single microscape that includes your favorite landmark or choose a microscape with more personal significance
