Cellular Table

Cellular Table has been commissioned to explore new ways of producing metal in the field of furniture design. The project uses a double-layer algorithmic pattern to provide both strength and flexibility. The final form of the table is developed through multiple iterations of the algorithm to provide an optimum level of porosity and lightness. Finally, the manufacturing process offers the use of both 3d printing and electro-forming process to increase both lightweight and sculptural qualities of a typical metal furniture within in a given interior environment.

Nuova Bari Centrale

For 25 years Bari has been absorbed by a debate on the future of the iron sea which separates its historically defined part and the expansion one. The project is part of a MArch degree thesis from the Polytechnic of Bari, about the 'Grande Bari' plan, involved to solve this issue. The goal of the project is to make the station a pleasant, clear and safe to use place, solving the problematic node of the tracks moving from the Centre of the City. The new infrastructure is sustainable and produces energy thanks twelve structural trees made of recycled steel with solar roof on the top.

3D Crafts

Alice Le Biez, French young designer has realized a set of three bowls, printed in 3D ceramics. The shape of each bowls reminds traditional ceramics technique. She created with her project an illusion of a hand-made bowl by the design but also by the making process. Her 3D printing object explores the link between traditional skills and new technologies and demonstrates that designer can use the new technologies as a tool to go further in their work and discover a new field of creation.

Medieval Headphones

for a new project of Livestreaming Top DJs worldwide, Lords of Clubs. Legend has it...that the heralds (fans) gave their support to the knights (lords) the night before each gig, like an entourage cheering before a tournament... showing off their white dresses, they danced to the fanfare (music) from castle to castle (clubs), living it up.

Unspoken words

Saying goodbye to someone precious. The pain The sadness The sudden absence and total void. Unanswered questions and fear of the unknown. "I still have so much to tell you." The focus is on the ‘unspoken words’ in this collection of 3d printed urns, through which those left behind have the chance of giving the deceased a last message. Unsaid. Unexpressed. Words, feelings, promises. Now brought to life in the intimacy of this piece of art. The portrait distinguishes the identity of the receptacle containing the ashes. A lasting and personal manner to remind those who have meant so much to us.

The ethereal nature of the piece gives rise to something tangible. The idea comes from the use of water as an element to convey the concept of surfacing and being a surface. The designer has a fascination for bringing into being our identities and the role those around us have in that process. For him, we "surface" when we show something of ourselves.
