Mr. Andou Tadao once said, “Concrete is a structural concept and a concept without additional disguise.” The buildings of this association building and public facility designing project take a low profile posture that “grow” within the environment. The main buildings take up 3 sides in fluid curves that naturally blend within the “group”. Many large trees were planted in the external spaces, making it a highly greened outdoor space. This enables the main body of the building to jump off materials used for conventional building surfaces.

The decorative floor lamp Calla Noir, nearly 130cm tall, was printed on a large-scale delta style printer. With the help of new performance materials from Modex 3D filaments and the 3D printing facilities at Linkin Factory, Calla Noir achieved, what just three years ago, seemed like an insurmountable task in 3D printing. Drawing from extensive experiences gained from the past several years of investigation into the potentials of FDM 3D printing, sKY Associative integrated large-scale printing, color gradient printing, and machine code controlled patterning techniques to develop Calla Noir.
Loom is an expandable, adaptable, wearable and flexible 3D printed dress that adapts to all body types and body changes. Since we aren’t able to 3D print fabrics yet, Loom explores the possibilities of creating wearable 3D printed textiles with structures that are designed in relation to function, anatomy, movement, and utility. 3D printing in the fashion industry can be revolutionary and helpful if it is designed with functionality and the human body in mind. Loom proves that 3D printing clothing is more feasible, affordable, adaptable and possible than we think.
