3D printed records push the limits of what is currently possible given the precision of digital fabrication tools available to consumers today. These records were generated algorithmically from digital audio data and printed on a UV-cured resin 3D printer to micron precision. Though the audio quality is low, the records are meant to be a demonstration of the current state of the technology and encourage discussion about the broader implications that 3D printing has for the future of personal fabrication.
Human relationship with the environment has always had ups and downs. Cogeretur tries to be a visual discussion that criticise this relationship, adding value to the discussion trough Art. Cogeretur is a Digital Art project that "explore the forced relationship between the actions of man and nature". It comprehend twelve (12) pieces of art for a full exploration of the concept. For a comprehensive state, the project includes 6 still artworks and 6 motion artworks to present as a progressive action linked to the evolution of the concept. Cogeretur is the Latin word for imposed.
Atlantis Sanya is an ocean-themed resort. Designers met the following major difficulties for the construction: 1.High and strict requirements for product positioning, construction quality& safety and fire management; 2.Large scale of the project, which boasts a total construction area of 500, 000 sqm(the hotel of 250, 000 sqm and water park of 90, 000 sqm were constructed simultaneously). 3.Challenges for constructing the irregular-shaped building facade, the aquarium and delivering of water, etc.
The pebble garden machine is an additive manufacturing process developed for dry landscape design. It deploys coarse randomized aggregates, using epoxy resin as a binder and is assembled by an industrial robot into three-dimensional structures. It is perhaps the first application of 3D printing for dry landscape design and fabrication, creating counterintuitive geometric features such as tapering walls, cantilevering edges and low spanning arches. Overall artefacts have natural, man-made and machine aspects that are beautiful and breathtaking, capable to be produced at a fast rate.
Facets is an ongoing series of digital and physical sculptures, a contemporary interpretation of memorial sculptures of the Monumental Cemetery in Genova, Italy. The work explores the tension and equilibrium between form and matter. Using figurative representation and geometric abstraction, Facets is based on previous Topology studies of the sculptures. While referencing emotionally evocative memorial sculpture, the focus of this series shifts from pure figurative representation to the articulation of matter itself.
The designer sought inspiration from the simple elements and the purest form of design. His main concern was always the quick and objective reading of the information and always focused on the sensory. The elements he have chosen always work according to purpose, without being banal. The choice of colors and shapes strengthens the sense of concept, bringing the air of lightness and softness needed.
